Glad I didn’t. Good personal perspective and good read. Thanks for sharing your thoughts of your Greylene. (Interesting if could see pix of these vents and cup-holders).

I’m in New Zealand and am thinking of getting one. I’ve test driven a couple and thought they handled ok, not sports cars but not too bad.
Any chance of elaborating on the fuel economy, eg how far on a tank?
Thanks

I love her. Managed to get her into a huge hole 4 hours after buying her, mind! Had to call the dealer to talk me through how to get her out. A baptism of fire but worth it. We have now bonded!!

I get that you’re not a car person, but did you know that the Jimmy is the size that it is to meet ‘Kei car’ regulations in Japan. Cars shorter than 3.4m are allowed certain privileges and tax breaks. The first Jimnys were built in 1970 – they had a tiny 359cc twin cylinder two stroke engine to meet the tighter Kei regs at the time. For those wanting more road stability and comfort the almost as small Daihatsu Terios is a good option.

I have also heard that your fuel consumption depends a lot on whether or not you have a roof rack and other heavy additions to the car.

Hi Keith, I’m sorry to say that I am terrible at keeping track of my fuel consumption. All o can tell you is it’s definitely not as light on fuel as my tiny Hyundai Atos was 😅

I’m considering buying a Jimny – exactly the same as yours. I’m in the process of doing so. I was wondering if you can give me an idea of fuel consumption. I’ve read that the fuel consumption is not 100% correct to what Suzuki says it is and that it’s alot heavier on fuel, is that true? And how far do you get with a full tank in the city vs long distance. Looking forward hearing from you. Regards, Keith
